About The Next Step

TNS provides opportunities to learn in-demand skills others are taking for granted. It draws inspiration and resources from established programs such as:

Khan Academy Studio.Code.Org Scratch Snap! UC Berkeley Block 2 Script W3Schools Linux Foundation

Local and international activities are combined into unique, inspiring and relevant face to face learning experiences. Class sizes are usually between 12 – 20 ensuring all participants receive quality instruction. Laptops equipped with open source software are provided.

Activities range from basic literacy and numeracy skills to website creation, games development and open source certification – a pathway to real jobs including, but not restricted to:

  • Upskilling incarcerated people
  • Teaching young people to code
  • Creating Websites and Games
  • Software developer
  • System administrator
  • Application developer
