TNS provides a no nonsense opportunity to learn in-demand skills others are taking for granted. It draws inspiration and resources from established programs such as:

Khan Academy Studio.Code.Org Scratch Snap! UC Berkeley W3Schools Linux Foundation

Local and international activities are combined into unique, inspiring and relevant face to face learning experiences. Class sizes are usually between 15 – 25 ensuring all participants receive quality instruction. Laptops equipped with open source software are provided.

Units of Competency

Content currently addresses a range of performance criteria and foundation skills from the following units of competency:

ICTICT203 - Operate application software packages

ICTICT204 - Operate a digital media technology package

ICTICT205 - Design basic organisational documents using computing packages

Activities range from basic literacy and numeracy skills to website creation, games development and open source certification – a pathway to real jobs including, but not restricted to:

  • Upskilling incarcerated people
  • Teaching kids to code
  • Creating Websites and Games
  • Software developer
  • System administrator
  • Application developer
